Coach Community Guidelines

Our Commitment

Coach Builder Members believe everyone’s story should be heard, understood, and empowered to move forward. We celebrate the unique experiences that weave together to form everyone’s stories, including race, religion, age, sex, orientation, identity, and ability. We are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace and professional communities that promote and value diversity and reflect the communities we strive to serve. The greatest stories and ideas come from a diverse mix of people. We are working to build a culture where inclusion is the norm, not just an initiative.

Our Values

  • We are welcoming. We strive to be a community that welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities.
  • We are respectful. Every human has dignity, and that dignity will be respected above all else. We will not all agree all of the time, but disagreement is no excuse for poor behavior and/or poor manners. We might all experience some frustration now and then, but that frustration will never turn into a personal attack.
  • We are curious. When we disagree, we try to understand why. Disagreements, both social and professional, happen in every community and Coach Builder is no exception. It is important that we approach disagreements constructively and with curiosity. Conflict is an opportunity for all of us to grow as people in understanding, patience, and forgiveness.

When We Don’t Live Up to Our Values

We are a community of professionals, and we conduct ourselves professionally. We are kind to others. We do not insult or put down other community members, especially not with slurs, discrimination, or stereotyping. We do not harass or exclude each other.

As with any community, there will be moments when a member does not act in a way that is beneficial to building a safe and inclusive space. Unacceptable behavior from any community member, including staff, will not be tolerated. When those moments occur, we start from a place of trust and grace, choosing to think the best of each other. We approach the person directly and work to solve the issue. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to adhere to the community values immediately.

If a community member engages in unacceptable behavior, we may take action deemed appropriate, up to and including a temporary ban or permanent expulsion from the community.

Reporting a Concern

If you are subject to or witness a community member engaging in activity that goes against the community values, or have any other concerns, please notify us as soon as possible. Your concern will be evaluated by the team and you will receive a response within 48 hours.
